Safety Consultant
Andy is an industrial safety consultant with offices in Seattle, WA. He provides safety and risk management consulting services to a wide range of industrial and commercial clients. He has the combination of education and experience necessary to develop cost-effective solutions to complex loss exposures, and specializes in the development and implementation of customized safety programs tailored to the specific needs of the client
His safety career spans 23 years, and includes service as the first Loss Control Administrator for the Puget Sound Schools Risk Management Pool, as well as consulting work for three major insurance carriers.
Andy has extensive experience in the safety field. He has worked with virtually every major industry group on the west coast, including heavy manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, construction, transportation, shipbuilding, non-profit entities, hospitals, and public agencies. He designs and implements successful, focused and cost effective programs to control occupational safety and health, product liability, property, fleet, and public liability loss exposures.
Prior to co-founding The Synergy Group in 2003, Andy was for 13 years a consultant with Pettit-Morry Co., which subsequently became part of Acordia (the 7th largest insurance brokerage in the world). While at Acordia, Andy established a name for himself as one of the foremost safety consultants in the marine and fish processing fields. He spent three years as the full-time safety director for a major offshore processing company, spending several months at sea in remote locations while designing and implementing a comprehensive safety program.
He is an accomplished public speaker, and has presented popular sessions at statewide, regional, and international seminars and conventions. Recently Andy was the keynote speaker at the "Safety and Health in Commercial Fishing" program at the OSHA Training Center at the University of Washington. He was a Presenter at the International Fishing Industry Safety and Health (IFISH) Conference at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, sponsored by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Consultant
Since 1985 Bob has been an independent consultant in industrial hygiene, environmental compliance and safety. Clients span almost every sector of industry and are located in 16 different states. Approximately 40% of the services provided fall into the industrial hygiene area, there is another 30% in environmental services and the remainder are in a broad spectrum of related services. Bob has also been active since 1985 in assisting industry with a variety of legal issues ranging from workers compensation, civil lawsuits, and defending against regulatory violations (both OSHA and EPA).
His consulting career spans 29 years, and includes a lengthy period from 1974 to 1975 at the University of Washington where he conducted field investigations in a number of industries. Teaching and industrial consulting also figured prominently in his responsibilities. In 1984 Bob took a position with PACCAR as Manager of Industrial Hygiene. This period of 2.5 years was invaluable industrial experience. Since 1986 Bob has been the owner of an EHS consulting company, based here in the Seattle area but serving clients throughout North America as well as an occasional trip to Europe, the Middle East and the Orient.
